Game Type: Aion Classic
Team Registration Dates: October 17 - November 2
Current Tournament Dates: November 7-8 (Subject to change based upon participation)
Final Match: November TBA (Will work with final teams for best date)

A few months back, our Community Manager Rownen attended an Elyos community 1v1 tournament held in the Sanctum colosseum. The stadium was packed, it was being streamed, and everyone was having a great time watching the fights and cheering on players. Rownen had also found out that the rewards and prizes for the winners were all donated by the community! This was such a memorable event for Rownen and NCA would love to support more community events like this.

After reaching out to the last hosts of the tournament, Crimsondancer and Oxy, NCA has vowed to support another tournament hosted by the players, while trying to up the stakes as well. NCA will be providing the rewards, provide GM support, and advertise the event, while the players will continue to run the tournament.

So without further ado, the community will now be hosting a brand-new multi-faction 3v3 PvP tournament that all players can participate in to celebrate our recent 3.0 updates in Aion Classic! This will be a first for the community, so please expect a few changes as we all learn together.

Will your team have what it takes to climb the ladder and win it all? See the details below on how to participate and claim your glory.

Tournament Format

3 vs 3 Single Elimination Tournament

Each team will consist of 3 players who will take turns battling the opposing team in a 1 on 1 relay style showdown in the main city colosseums. Competitors from each team take turns competing against each other in successive matches, with the winner of each match staying on to face the next competitor from the opposing team. If a team member is KO’d the next team member will be sent in until all three team members are defeated twice. This means there are a total of 6 rounds.

Before the relay initiates, the team leader will whisper the host the order their player is going to enter. This order cannot be changed once the relay starts. However, the team can change the order as they see fit when they advance to the next round facing different groups.

At all times there are only 2 players in the colosseum. Once a player is defeated, a team member will then enter the colosseum to take on the surviving opposing player. Only 2 players are allowed in the arena at all times. The remaining team members will wait outside the arena until it is their turn.

Example:

Team 1: A B C

Team 2: D E F

Team 1 relay order -> A B C A B C

Team 2 relay order -> D E F D E F

Each faction will hold their own tournament first. The winning team from both the Elyos and Asmodians will face off against each other in a final inter-faction match.

Rankings for teams that are eliminated within the same stage will be determined by kill count.

For example, if Team 1 and Team 2 are both eliminated in the quarter final, and Team 1 got a total of 5 kills whereas Team 2 only got 2 kills, then Team 1 ranks higher and will receive 3rd place.

As we move forward with the tournament, our rules will be updated with instructions for tournament day.

Forbidden Gear Sets:

  • To avoid the fight turning into a pure gear check when fighting against cleric or chanter. The chain participants must choose which defensive set to not use before the fight starts. This choice will persist throughout the round.
  • For example, if the enemy team has gladiator, templar, and a sorcerer, the chain participant might incline to choose block set in the round. Hence, the chain player will inform the GM they choose to use block set in this round. This means the player would not be able to use MR set in this particular round when facing the sorcerer.
  • If the chain player is facing a spirit master, a sorcerer,and a assassin next round, the chain player can then choose to use MR set in that round instead of block set
